R and F Pigment Stick Color Chart

A Rainbow of Pigments: R and F Pigment Sticks in My Studio

Just in case it would be of interest to others, I wanted to share this chart of R and F Pigment Sticks. I recently expanded my supply, and decided to make a chart of the colors I have.  These are like oil paint in a bar form, which allows a person to draw with paint, rather than apply it with a brush.  Below the colors are mixed with a bit of white to show how it changes the hue.

Some colors (like Indigo, Courbet Green and Phthalo Blue) look almost black in stick form, but thinned out, their true color shines through.   

I use these Pigment Sticks frequently in the background of my portraits, for example in the Eternal Color Series.
